Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing that creates realistic hair strokes by gently dispensing ink into the skin. A microblade is a handheld tool consisting of 18 tiny little microneedles arranged in the shape of a blade. This method is perfect for those who do not usually wear eyebrow makeup and are looking to enhance their natural look. Microblading creates density and definition and is perfect for those who have experienced partial or complete hair loss. Best recommended for those with dryer or younger skin. Results last about 1.5-2 years with a touch up.
What is Powder Brows?
Powder Brows, or "microshading" is another form of semi-permanent tattooing that fills in the brows and gives a beautiful shaded look all around. Generally this method is used by creating an "ombré " affect near the front of the brow to create a very natural look. Powder Brows are created using a machine that implants the ink very delicately with a single tiny needle. This technique is perfect for daily makeup users that are looking to replace their brow pencil. Suitable for all skin types. Results last about 1.5-2 years with a touch up.
How can Microblading or Powder Brows help me?
There are several benefits from receiving semi-permanent eyebrow makeup, some of these including:
Improved confidence
The look of full and even brows
Conceal sparse areas naturally
Reduces time spent in the morning getting ready and applying makeup
Sweat and waterproof (swim and workout with amazing brows!)
While we use similar ink to a traditional tattoo, the ink is only placed in the upper dermal layer of the skin (rather than the sub-dermal) making this procedure semi-permanent. This leaves room for adjustments long term. Perhaps styles, trends, or your tastes changes. Brow shape and color can be adjusted to fit these changes over time.
Who is a candidate for semi-permanent makeup?
The simple answer is, anyone that wants to have full, beautiful brows all day, everyday! This would include busy parents or business people who don't have much time to apply brow makeup, active people who don't want to worry about sweating off makeup while working out or swimming, or any person who struggles with getting that perfect shape that the celebrities and YouTube makeup artists always seem to have. Other clients include Cancer survivors, those suffering from scarring, Trichotillomania, Alopecia, or other diseases and disorders that have led to natural hair loss. Let Columbus Cosmetic Ink do all the work for you!
How long do results last?
Results last 1.5-2 years with a touch up. Results can vary depending on individuals, their life style, skin conditions, medical history, and how well they take care of their eyebrows. This service is a two step process if you want the best possible results. A complimentary touch up is given within 6-8 weeks of the initial appointment. After that, a touch up is recommended every 1.5 - 2 years to preserve your brows.
Does the procedure hurt?
NO! There is minimal discomfort many consider being close to that of plucking with tweezers. There are 2 highly effective numbing ointments and gels used during the process to ensure a painless procedure.
How long is the appointment?
The initial appointment consists of the consultation, mapping & designing, numbing, customized color matching, and the actual process of microblading and/or machine shading. This usually takes about 3 hours.
